1. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) lowered the repo rate by 50 basis points from 7.25 per cent to 6.75 per cent, while keeping CRR and SLR unchanged at 4 percent and 21.5 percent, respectively in its Fourth Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Statement, 2015. The reverse repo rate under the LAF stands adjusted to 5.75 per cent, and the Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) rate and the Bank Rate to 7.75 per cent. However, it has lowered its FY 2015-16 GDP growth target to 7.4 percent from 7.6 percent.
भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) ने अपने चौथे द्विमासिक मौद्रिक नीति वक्तव्य, 2015 में रेपो दर में 50 आधार अंकों की कटौती की। रेपो दर अब 7.25 प्रतिशत से कम होकर 6.75 प्रतिशत हो गयी है। सीआरआर और एसएलआर क्रमश: 4 प्रतिशत और 21.5 प्रतिशत पर अपरिवर्तित हैं। एलएएफ के तहत रिवर्स रेपो दर 5.75 प्रतिशत पर तथा सीमांत स्थायी सुविधा (एमएसएफ) दर और बैंक दर 7.75 प्रतिशत पर समायोजित हैं। हालांकि, उसने वित्तीय वर्ष 2015-16 की सकल घरेलू उत्पाद की वृद्धि दर के लक्ष्य को 7.6 प्रतिशत से कम करके 7.4 प्रतिशत कर दिया है।
2. India bagged seven medals, including five silver and two bronze at the 16th Asian Rowing Championships that concluded in Beijing, China. China bagged the maximum medals including 15 gold.
भारत ने चीन के बीजिंग में आयोजित 16वीं एशियाई रोइंग चैम्पियनशिप प्रतियोगिता में कुल सात पदक जीते। इन पदकों में पाँच रजत और दो कांस्य पदक शामिल है। चीन ने 15 स्वर्ण सहित अधिकतम पदक जीते।
3. Renowned Hindi poet and eminent journalist Viren Dangwal passed away. He was 68. His famous poem collection ‘Dushchakra Me Shrista’ had earned him prestigious Sahitya Academy award in 2004.
प्रख्यात हिंदी कवि और वरिष्ठ पत्रकार वीरेन डंगवाल का निधन हो गया। वे 68 वर्ष के थे। उनके प्रसिद्ध कविता संग्रह ‘दुष्चक्र में सृष्टा’ को 2004 में साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार दिया गया था।
4. Mathematician Jacob Tsimerman of the University of Toronto, Canada was chosen for the prestigious 2015 SASTRA Ramanujan Prize. Tsimerman is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the University of Toronto. He primarily conducts research in Number Theory.
कनाडा में टोरंटो विश्वविद्यालय के गणितज्ञ जैकब शिमरमैन को वर्ष 2015 के सस्त्र रामानुजन पुरस्कार के लिए चयनित किया गया है। शिमरमैन वर्तमान में टोरंटो विश्वविद्यालय में सहायक प्रोफेसर के रूप में कार्यरत हैं। वह मुख्य रूप से संख्या सिद्धांत में अनुसंधान कर रहे हैं।
5. NASSCOM, TiE and IIM Ahmedabad’s CIIE India hosted the first ‘India-U.S. StartUp Konnect 2015’ programme in the Silicon Valley, to highlight the strengths of the Indian startup ecosystem. With an aim to boost startups in various organizations in India and the US seven MoUs were signed. During the programme Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Bharat Fund. It is aimed at providing seed funding to Indian entrepreneurs.
नैसकॉम, टीआईई और आईआईएम अहमदाबाद के सीआईआईई इंडिया ने भारतीय स्टार्टअप पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र की ताकत प्रदर्शित करने के लिए पहले ‘इंडिया-यूएस स्टार्ट-अप कोनेक्ट 2015’ प्रोग्राम की मेजबानी सिलिकॉन वैली में की। भारत में स्टार्टअप्स को बढावा देने के लिए भारत के विभिन्न संगठनों और यूएस के बीच सात एमओयू पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए। कार्यक्रम के दौरान प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने भारत फंड का शुभारंभ किया। इसका उद्देश्य भारतीय उद्यमियों को प्रारंभिक धन उपलब्ध कराना है।
6. Google has announced its plans to make Internet accessible to one crore passengers at 100 busiest railway stations in India by the end of 2016 and will later expand it to 400 other stations, making it one of the largest public Wi-Fi projects in the world. This announcement was made by Google CEO Sundar Pichai during the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Google’s US headquarters in Mountain View, California.
गूगल ने 2016 के अंत तक भारत में 100 सबसे व्यस्त रेलवे स्टेशनों पर एक करोड यात्रियों को इंटरनेट तक पहुंच उपलब्ध कराने की योजना की घोषणा की है। कंपनी बाद में इसका विस्तार कर अन्य 400 स्टेशनों पर वाई-फाई सुविधा उपलब्ध कराएगी। यह घोषणा माउंटेन व्यू, कैलिफोर्निया में गूगल के अमेरिकी मुख्यालय में भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की यात्रा के दौरान गूगल के सीईओ सुंदर पिचाई द्वारा की गयी थी।
7. The Government of India signed a loan agreement with Asian Development Bank (ADB) for US $123.51 million for tranche 3 of the Infrastructure Development Investment Program for Tourism to continue upgrading tourism infrastructure and services in Punjab, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. The loan will be used for development and conservation of places of tourist attractions. The third tranche loan is part of the $250 million multi-tranche financing facility that ADB approved in 2010.
भारत सरकार ने पंजाब, उत्तराखंड और हिमाचल प्रदेश में पर्यटन के बुनियादी ढांचे और सेवाओं का उन्नयन जारी रखने के लिए बुनियादी ढांचा विकास निवेश कार्यक्रम की किश्त 3 के लिए 123.51 अमेरिकी डॉलर के एक ऋण समझौते पर एशियाई विकास बैंक (एडीबी) के साथ हस्ताक्षर किए। ऋण पर्यटकों के आकर्षण स्थलों के विकास और संरक्षण के लिए इस्तेमाल किया जाएगा। तीसरी किश्त का ऋण, 250 मिलियन डॉलर बहु-किश्त वित्तपोषण सुविधा जिसको एडीबी ने 2010 में मंजूरी दी थी, का हिस्सा है।
8. Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu launched a Railway Portal for dissemination of detailed information on Indian Railways. ‘Indian Railway Knowledge Portal’ which is accessible at www.kportal.indianrailways.gov.in is an initiative of the National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR) which allows the user to access most of the available knowledge about Indian Railways at one location due to linkage of websites, documents and much more. National Informatics Centre (NIC) has clustered all the libraries to a single interface via e-Granthalaya.
भारतीय रेल मंत्री सुरेश प्रभाकर प्रभु ने भारतीय रेलवे के बारे में विस्तृत जानकारी के प्रसार हेतु एक रेलवे पोर्टल का शुभारम्भ किया है। ‘भारतीय रेलवे नॉलेज पोर्टल’ www.kportal.indianrailways.gov.in पर उपलब्ध है। यह भारतीय रेलवे राष्ट्रीय अकादमी (एनएआईआर) द्वारा आरंभ की गयी पहल है जिसमें वेबसाइटों, दस्तावेजों और अन्य उपलब्ध लिंक्स की सहायता से भारतीय रेल के बारे में एक ही स्थान पर बहुत सी जानकारी प्राप्त की जा सकती हैं। राष्ट्रीय सूचना केंद्र ने सभी पुस्तकालयों को ई-ग्रंथालय के नाम से एक ही स्थान पर ला दिया है।
9. Consequent upon the demise of Dr. Syed Ahmed, Governor of Manipur, the President of India has appointed V. Shanmuganathan, Governor of Meghalaya, to discharge the functions of the Governor of Manipur, in addition to his own duties, until regular arrangements are made.
मणिपुर के राज्यपाल डॉ. सैयद अहमद का निधन होने के कारण राष्ट्रपति ने मेघालय के राज्यपाल वी. षण्मुगनाथन को नियमित प्रबंध होने तक अपने कर्त्तव्यों के साथ-साथ मणिपुर के राज्यपाल के कार्यों का निर्वहन करने के लिए नियुक्त किया है।
10. Gujarat Tourism Policy for 2015-20 was unveiled by state tourism Minister Saurabh Patel. In this policy, the state govt. accorded industry status to tourism for the first time. The policy document pegs the investment potential in the tourism sector in the state at $4 billion or around Rs. 26,000 crore by 2025.
गुजरात राज्य की पर्यटन नीति (2015-20) की घोषणा राज्य के पर्यटन मंत्री सौरभ पटेल ने की। इसमें राज्य में पहली बार पर्यटन को उद्योग का दर्जा प्रदान करने की अहम घोषणा की गई। पर्यटन नीति में वर्ष 2025 तक राज्य के पर्यटन क्षेत्र में 4 अरब डॉलर (रु. 26,000 करोड़) के निवेश की क्षमता बताई गई।
11. Silicon Valley based chip-maker Qualcomm announced that it will invest 150 million US dollars for Indian start-ups. The investment will come through a venture fund. The announcement was made after the company’s executive chairman Paul E. Jacobs met the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Digital Economy event in San Jose.
सिलिकॉन वैली आधारित चिप निर्माता कंपनी क्वालकॉम ने भारतीय स्टार्ट-अप में 150 मिलियन यूएस डॉलर का निवेश करने की घोषणा की। यह निवेश वेंचर फंड के माध्यम से किया जाएगा। यह घोषणा कंपनी के कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष पॉल ई. याकूब ने सैन जोस में डिजिटल अर्थव्यवस्था कार्यक्रम के दौरान भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से मुलाकात के बाद की।
12. Bengali movie Kadambari has bagged two major awards at the Washington DC South Asian Film Festival, including the best film honour and the best actress trophy for Konkona Sen Sharma, while India’s Oscars entry Court took home the best director gong for Chaitanya Tamhane. ‘Kadambari’ is directed by Suman Ghosh.
बंगाली फिल्म ‘कादम्बरी’ को वॉशिंगटन डीसी साउथ एशियन फिल्म फेस्टिवल में दो प्रमुख पुरस्कार मिले। कादम्बरी को सर्वश्रेष्ठ फिल्म श्रेणी में और सर्वश्रेष्ठ अभिनेत्री की श्रेणी में अदाकारा कोंकणा सेन शर्मा को पुरस्कृत किया गया है। इसके अलावा ऑस्कर के लिए भारत की प्रविष्टि के तौर पर गई फिल्म ‘कोर्ट’ के निर्देशक चैतन्य तमहाने को सर्वश्रेष्ठ निर्देशक के पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया है। ‘कादम्बरी’ का निर्देशन सुमन घोष ने किया है।
